Product Overview
Specification

Sub-chassis turntable with 9“ carbon/alu sandwich tonearm.

The Project The Classic Evo is based on an improved two-plinth design, using Thermo Plastic Elastomers to isolate the metal inner chassis. This construction method decouples the motor from the main bearing and tonearm, reducing unwanted resonance resulting in a clearer signal. To further this, the main platter is machined from special aluminium alloy, lined with TPE damping whilst the new sub-platter is diamond cut also from aluminium alloy, ensuring absolute accuracy and reliability in sound reproduction. The design adds mass to the platter, creating a more stable playback.

The Classic Evo is a belt driven turntable, using a premium AC drive motor for minimal noise. A speed control switch is situated on the top of the plinth, for easy switching between 33rpm and 45rpm, as well as support for 78rpm.

The tonearm tube design is retained from the original The Classic, with a one piece conical tonearm tube of carbon fibre wrapped aluminium, creating a very light yet stiff arm. This construction dampens vibrations, benefitting the music with only the pure sound. The tonearm is mounted to a superior bearing, with a TPE damped counterweight, reducing the resonant frequency of the tonearm. The arm comes factory fitted with the Ortofon Quintet Red moving coil cartridge, allowing you to get quality performance straight out of the box.

The turntable is supplied with Project Connect-IT E phono cables and a removable dust cover, everything you need to get connected and listening as soon as possible. With two elegant wood veneer finishes, Eucalyptus or Walnut, the Classic Evo fits in with any interior design, and brings a classic look, engaging performance and class-leading technology to any music system.
