 Digital

The Digital Switchover in the South West is now complete!  Analogue has been officially 'switched off' and the Digital Signal has been boosted to its full power.

Why has this happened?

Up until Wednesday 9th September 2009, there were many homes throughout Cornwall and Devon who were unable to receive the Digital Freeview Service.  Only those with good, strong signal could receive Freeview, and the enhanced picture quality and extended range of channels that it offers.

Now that the Switchover has been made, the signal has been boosted, all homes in the South West are now able to receive this superb new Digital Signal*.  After a long wait, many homes can now fully enjoy the benefits of digital television via Freeview.

Why do I need to retune my equipment from time to time?

New channels and services are always being added to the already-extensive Freeview range.  As new channels become available, your box should display a message to inform you.  Retuning can be done (usually automatically) to make sure your box is up to date and receives all the latest channels.

Can you help me with my retuning?

Of course!

You will have had to retune your digital equipment twice already - once on Wednesday 12th August, and once again on Wednesday 9th September.  The retuning process on Wednesday 30th September will be no different to the retunes you have already done.

We understand that for many people, this can be a confusing and challenging task; which is why we have put together a selection of easy-to-understand Digital Retune Guides, available for you to download completely free of charge!

Please be aware that various models may differ in the way they operate, therefore our Retune Guides should be used as a rough guide only!
